Imperfections don’t make you a bad Christian, it makes you someone who hasn’t given up hope and someone who continues to persevere, despite everything going on.
For even while we were still sinners Christ died for us. It was a ransom for our sinful nature, a Debt fully paid by Jesus blood.
We mustn’t be convinced that God could never love us because of such imperfections, failures and mistakes.
Yes, we should repent and turn towards God. Because in his grace we find forgiveness and we find hope.
My whole point is that we are all imperfect, we all have past stories that try to dictate who we can be. However you shouldn’t let anyone dictate your worth, based on this.
God redeems, he restores and he forgives.
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
